Proceedings of the UCSD Department of Medicine 

The Department of Medicine has partnered with Cureus, an Open Access online medical journal that focuses on "providing clinicians and researchers with equal opportunity and access to legitimate, peer-reviewed research."

Our Mission

To accelerate the improvement of health by rapidly disseminating rigorius, real-world, and translational scholarship from the Department of Medicine - advancing patient care, equity, and education through open, ethical, and reproducible science. 

Our Scope

The UC San Diego Department of Medicine channel highlights internal medicine and related specialties, including clinical research and interdisciplinary collaborations.

Who is eligible to submit? 

Faculty members of the Department of Medicine. Submissions can have up to five co-authors. At least one author must be a UC San Diego Department of Medicine faculty member. We encourage faculty members to collaborate across specialties and residents to collaborate with faculty in writing case reports for publications in Proceedings. These case reports are valuable teaching resources for our department and the broader community. Medical students are permitted to co-author publications but are not eligible to serve as peer reviewers.
